Mark leads strategic initiatives across global research sites and manages collaborations including outreach initiatives in Hawaii. He has over 20 years of agricultural experience in Hawaii and is dedicated to the development of future leaders in agriculture. He holds a BS degree in Horticulture/Business from Colorado State University and an MS in Plant Breeding from UC Davis. His goals include fostering coexistence of multiple agricultural systems in the state and increasing awareness and understanding of the seed industry in Hawai‘i. Mark is a graduate of the Agricultural Leadership Program Class XIII, and serves on the board for the Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawai‘i (ALFH) as Past President. He is also a member of the Hawai‘i Agriculture Conference Planning Committee for the upcoming AG2019 conference. In his free time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, playing guitar, and surfing.
